10 Things We Know About the Disney Treasure

10 Things We Know About the Disney Treasure

We finally got the news we’ve been waiting for! Disney Treasure details! Did anyone else clear their whole schedule for the day, just to digest it all? No? Just me? Okay, fair. Well, I am happy to report that we got some good stuff! The second ship in the Triton class, the Disney Treasure, is going to keep some very popular parts of the Disney Wish and add in some fun new surprises! We don’t know everything yet, there are some exciting announcements still to come, but here’s what we know so far!

1. Tower Suite Version Two - How about an EPCOT-themed Tower Suite?! Whoa. That sounds so awesome. I’ve been lucky enough to stay in the Tower Suite on the Wish with some dear friends. Located inside the iconic red funnel, the Tower Suite is a huge two-story suite that sleeps 8 with four bedrooms and four and a half bathrooms! The Wish version is Moana-themed, and I think an EPCOT theme is brilliant. We had the time of our lives in this suite, and I can’t wait to try the new one which is called the Tomorrow Tower Suite!

2. Coco! – Disney is bringing back the very popular 1923, and a new version of the Marvel restaurant while replacing Arendelle on the Wish with a Coco restaurant! Plaza de Coco will have live music and two different dining experiences. The first night will be full of music with Miguel, his family, and the town mariachi band. The second night the restaurant will transform into a fun-filled Dia de los Muertos celebration with Mama Coco. I feel like it’s going to be a huge hit!

3. Zootopia Drops In – Nick and Judy from Zootopia are serving up the good stuff in the sweet shop called Jumbeaux’s Sweets! While I firmly believe that you don’t have to spend a dime on food on a Disney ship, I’ll fully admit, that the sweet shops onboard are adorably themed, with delicious treats. I expect Nick and Judy to live up to the high bar that’s already been set.

4. New Stern and Bow – The Disney Treasure is themed for adventure! Captain Minnie has traded her traditional Captain’s uniform for an absolutely adorable adventure ensemble which she’s sporting in her picture on the bow of the ship. The ship continues that theme all the way to the back, where Peter Pan and Captain Hook spar on the stern. Adventure is out there!

5. Jungle Cruise Onboard – Bayou on the Wish is a great space, but on the Treasure, it’s going to be Skipper Society, a Jungle Cruise tribute! Disney says there will be funny skippers and a playful atmosphere. There should be some fun-themed cocktails and snacks as well! I think this lounge has a ton of potential. Don’t be in de-nile! It’s happening! Okay, I should leave the corny jokes to the professionals.

6. 20,000 Leagues AT Sea – Keg & Compass from the Wish, will become the Periscope Pub on the Treasure. It’s a pub themed to the 1954 film “20,000 Leagues Under the Sea” and the Disney Park attraction. The ceiling is “glass” to see the watery world above. For any sports fans out there, don’t despair! There are some “scientific” monitors that display news and live sports coverage.

7. Beauty and the Beast is Back – I am a huge fan of the Beauty and the Beast show on the Dream, and I am not sad that I will have even more chances to see it onboard the Treasure. Disney did an amazing job with it, and I suspect with some small changes, it will be even better on the Treasure!

8. New AquaMouse Adventure – A new version of the AquaMouse will be onboard the Disney Treasure, and this one is a treasure adventure! The short film on this adventure is called Curse of the Golden Egg and it follows Mickey and Minnie on a search into an ancient temple to find the treasure therein! Should be cute!

9. Different Stateroom Themes – While the Wish stuck to mainly princess-themed staterooms, the staterooms on the Disney Treasure will feature custom artwork from “Aladdin”, “Up”, “Encanto”, and “Pocahontas”! The Concierge Suites will feature “The Lion King”, “The Jungle Book”, “Aladdin”, and “Finding Nemo”. They all sound wonderful. How will we choose?

10. Aladdin and Jasmine are Flying By – We already knew an Aladdin and Jasmine statue would greet guests in the Grand Hall immediately after embarking, but I’d like to point out again, how beautiful that Grand Hall looks. The regal deep blues are just warm and gorgeous. I love how it is reminiscent of the Wish, and yet so different. I can’t wait to step onboard!

*Bonus* - Hakuna Matata! – Luna from the Disney Wish has been rethemed to “The Lion King” and is now called Sarabi. It looks beautiful!
